Now Panic! Poster.
Digital Poster Design
Back in fall of 2014 I took a digital imaging class and learned the basics of Photoshop. One of our projects required that we digitally paint a portrait of our choosing, so chose to paint Janet Leigh in the shower scene of 1960 film Psycho. At the emergence of the Pop Art movement, Leigh's image in this iconic scene was popularized via all kinds of visual media.
I later included the phrase "Now Panic and Freak Out" to add humor and to fill out some of the negative space around Leigh's figure. I sketched the letters and traced them manually in Illustrator arranging "panic" to convey unease and fear, contrasting that with the sleek elegance of script words surrounding it.
